This short block is intended for light to moderate boost. The Dart SHP LS Next adds the convenience of directly bolting on GM covers and accessories without requiring oil spacer rails and remote oil filter adapters.

LS Next Features
Retains all of the LS Next designs features not found in competing blocks including but not limited to:
- Longer cylinder sleeves,
- Priority main oiling
- 4 bolt splayed main saddle structural

This 427 cubic inch short block has a 4.125 in bore and 4.00 in stroke. The dimensions are set with Callies Compstar center-counterweighted 4340 forged crank and Callies Compstar Extreme rods.

The center counterweights are a major upgrade as they increase the cranks stiffness by about 25% while reducing harmonics. The net result is less stress on the main bearings and longer engine life. Topping off the rotating assembly are Diamond's Race Series pistons which are machined with their newest and most precise CNCs. Among their features :
