Description:
Centrifugal superchargers offer a unique set of characteristics relative to other means of delivering boost. Most notably, ProCharged engines give a very predictable throttle response. Being driven off the crankshaft, no spooling is required which with turbos causes lag. They have a very different torque curve than a twin-screw design and have no internal bypass. Our Whipple builds will, for example, provide explosive, tire-shredding, low-end torque. Our ProCharged builds will come on softer, with torque & horsepower increasing linearly with RPM making them easier to handle. For street performance, it's a matter of personal preference whereas a linear and lag-free throttle response is critical in road and drift racing. Drag racing applications see all three boost types employed with great success.
This F1-X boosted 427 ci LS is designed for ProTouring while offering an optional extra flex-fuel kick at the track for the weekend warrior. It comes equipped with a Holley water-methanol kit to achieve peak performance. We pushed out 1,250 horsepower on our dyno while running pump gas and an amazing 1,436 horsepower running ethanol.
ProCharger's accessory drive provides a clean and consistent look that you'll be proud to show off. The optional liquid-to-air intercooler installed on this LS makes it a drop-in relative to its air-to-air intercooled sisters which require more fabrication. Intercooling is required and both types of intercooling work, but one or the other may be required for fitment. The hydraulic roller drive train is stabilized with COMP BSR shaft rockers for outstanding performance that is maintenance-free.
Let's talk about the engine itself. We are using a Dart LS Next SHP Pro block and Dart billet crank paired with Callies Ultra rods and Diamond pistons. This short block is topped with our custom CNC'd All Pro heads. The Holley Hi-Ram intake sandwiches a 417 Motorsport liquid-to-air intercooler and is supplemented by a Holley water-methanol injection system. Engine management is handled by the included Holley Terminator X and water-meth kit. Available EFI upgrades include Holley Terminator X-Max and FuelTech.
We can still customize this build to suit your individual requirments as follows:
- Delete flex-fuel capability (smaller fuel injectors)
- Delete liquid-to-air intercooler for customer-installed air-to-air set up
- Upgrade EFI

1 These engines are not pollution compliant and are intended for transportation use only in pre-pollution controlled vehicles.
2 All BRE engines are individually dyno tested and tuned. Customers will be supplied with video of their engine's dyno along with the dyno and build sheets.
3 Dyno results on the same engine are influenced by atmospheric conditions. The same engine can easily test +/- 2% different on horsepower depending upon ambient conditions. The engine you receive will have completed its dyno session at no less than 98% of rated horsepower with the tune we provide.
