NOTE: This engine with AFR heads supersedes the prior 700 hp version with RHS heads which were discontinued. The photography and videos will show a mix of the the prior version with RHS heads and the current version with AFR heads. This video shows the new heads and engine dyno with no serpentine and the optional FAST LSXHR intake manifold.

Your ride is going to be a cruiser, so it needs to have street manners, be utterly reliable and low maintenance. Chances are your hood will be up a lot at car shows, so the engine needs to look great. You are looking for Plug & Play so as to avoid any installation and fabrication nightmares. Once finished, you have no intention of ever selling your dream ride, so the engine must be built to last. To get your project finished, the drive train can't break the bank.
Look no further. Borowski Race Engines has what you want. The simplest solution is usually the best solution. That means naturally aspirated; something we can do comfortably with a hydraulic roller cam. This package comes complete with electronics and a serpentine system that can handle whatever you have in mind. It arrives already broken-in on our dyno with the tune installed. Looks? You decide. This build features all new, name-brand parts for durability and reliability. Pair it with one of our custom Hughes Performance transmission kits, you are good to go!
Let's look at three key elements of the technology:
- Short Block: A seasoned GM iron LS engine block with 4.030" bores paired with a 4.000" stroke Callies Compstar center-counterweighted crank with Compstar rods and Diamond Race Series pistons.
- Top End: A COMP hydraulic roller cam controls the valve train enhanced with a COMP trunnion kit. This cam delivers a great balance of power, low idle rpm and vacuum plus it sounds great. The AFR Moongoose LS3 heads have been CNC ported on BRE's 5-axis and treated to a CNC treatment on our Newen CNC seat & guide machine. The intake manifold is a cast Holley Lo-Ram with a 102 mm throttle body. Available alternatives typically in stock include both the FAST LSXR and LSXHR polymer intakes.
- Electronics: The Holley Terminator gives you true Plug & Play. No chassis dyno necessary as it comes with tune from our dyno and the unit is self-learning. The Terminator will run your engine and can interface with the optional Holley Digital Dash to solve all your instrumentation issues.
- Oiling Systems: These engines come equipped with a GM F-Body pan with an added baffle. A range of Holley 302-X retrofit pans are available to suit your specific requirements. One major available upgrade is a Dailey 3-Stage dry sump oiling system. These are great for motorsports applications as they deliver superior oiling performance, more horsepower and handling benefits (see blog)\
- Electronics: The available Holley Terminator X gives you true Plug & Play. No chassis dyno necessary as it comes with tune from our dyno and the unit is self-learning. The Terminator X will run your engine and can interface with the optional Holley Digital Dash to solve all your instrumentation issues. A Terminator X-Max can be selected for features such as tran control and drive-by-wire. FuelTech systems are also available. These have a waterproof, integrated display and more robust harness making them ideal for marine and offraod.
- Serpentine System: The most popular serpentines are black two-tone with the CVF being standard. The full range of CVF LS serpentines is avaiable as well as our own BRE custom serpentines. The BRE's come with a 225 amp alternator so you won't run out of electrical power and can be selected with provisions for Hydratech hydraulic boost systems if needed.

AVAILABLE ADD-ONS and UPGRADES
- Upgrade the Terminator X to a Terminator X-Max which will allow it to do double duty for both engine management and trans control.
- Upgrade the CVF Racing serpentine system to a BRE custom accesory drive with a 225 amp alternator and HydraTech compatibility. 300 amp alternators are available.
- The custom Hughes Performance 4L80e Muscle Car transmission kit comes complete with a torque converter that is custom-tuned for this engine and your vehicle. The kit also includes everything else you'll need for the install. This 4-speed overdrive transmission can handle the power and will match up perfectly with the engine. Upgrading to a Terminator X-Max will allow the Holley engine management system to do double duty as a trans controller.

- These engines are not pollution compliant and are intended for transportation use only in pre-pollution controlled vehicles.
- All BRE engines are individually dyno tested and tuned. Customers will be supplied with video of their engine's dyno along with the dyno and build sheets.
- Dyno results on the same engine are influenced by atmospheric conditions. The same engine can easily test +/- 2% different on horsepower depending upon ambient conditions. The engine you receive will have completed its dyno session at no less than 98% of rated horsepower with the tune we provide.
- The parts selection for these engines may vary based upon current availability (ex. Manley pistons and rods). Customer will be notified of any changes, all of which would be of comparable quality.
- These engines can be customized upon request (ex paint color, engraving, intake manifold, etc).
- The photo set includes various configurations of intake manifolds, serpentines, etc.
