This 427ci LS short block set is intended for big power builds. The Compression Ratio is a boost-friendly 9.75:1 when paired with a 68cc combustion chamber. Check out this parts list:

The Dart LS Next SHP Pro is the newest in Dart's line of LS Next engines blocks. The difference between the "Pro" and the SHP LS Next block are the metallurgy and standard main studs instead of bolts. The Pro has a higher nickel content for 30% higher tensile strength so it can handle more power.

LS Next Features
Retains all of the LS Next designs features not found in competing blocks including but not limited to:
- Longer cylinder sleeves,
- Priority main oiling
- 4 bolt splayed main saddle structural
This 427 cubic inch short block come from its 4.125" bore and the 4.00" stroke of its Callies' center counterweighted Magnum crank. The center counterweighted Magnum crank has a 4.000" stroke and is made from 4340 Timken alloy. The center counterweights are a major upgrade as they increase the cranks stiffness by about 25% while reducing harmonics. The net result is less stress on the main bearings and longer engine life. We use either Callies Ultra Enforcer or Dyers NH rods depending upon availability.
The Dyers NH H-Beam connecting rods have a unique double-banded cap for an ultimate strength to weight ratio. They are manufactured from 300M steel alloy which is 20% stronger than 4340 steel alloy. The Dyers rods weigh in around 670 grams versus 705 grams for the Callies 4340 alloy I-Beams. The Ultra Enforcers added strength is a result of the additional thickness inn key locations. Both are great rods that can reliably handle the power.
Topping off the rotating assembly are Diamond's Race Series pistons which are machined with their newest and most precise CNCs in Clinton Michigan. Among their features :
- 3D milling on piston crowns for ready to install finish
- Valve pockets designed to work with most aftermarket cylinder heads
- Offset pins for quiet operation
- Moly skirt coating for friction loss and skirt wear protection
- Side gas ports for better ring seal
- 2618 material for High HP-NOS-Boost applications
