MACHINED LT4 BLOCKS IN STOCK
GM's aluminum LT production block has proven itself to be a strong performer. We see this block as being able to reliably handle over 1,000 hp. That could not be said about its LS predecessor.
We offer this block fully machined, upgraded and ready to assemble with a diamond CNC hone finish appropriate for your application. Our state-of-the-art CNC equipment provides a level of precision far beyond OE. All blocks are individually serialized on our 4-axis CNC for traceability. We install premium Dura-Bond cam bearings and replace the OE main bolts with P1 main studs.
The use of P1 main studs is a major upgrade for several reasons.
- Who knows where the OE fasteners came from? What is their metallurgy? P1 Manufacturing makes these studs from E190 steel alloy in Rogersville MO.
- "Studs provide the ability to obtain much more accurate torque values because they don’t twist during tightening as bolts do. Because studs remain stationary during nut tightening, they stretch in one axis alone, providing much more even and accurate clamping forces. Also, because the use of studs results in less force applied to the block’s threads, this extends the life of the threaded holes in the block. This is especially important with alloy blocks. The use of studs also eases main cap installation, and contributes to main cap alignment. There is less chance of main cap walking because the studs remain stationary during cap clamping." - The torque on a stud is all applied in a single direction whereas a bolt also twists. Studs are not therefore susceptible to "unwinding" and provide greater clamping force

The greater applied torque induces slight dimensional changes. We align hone the mains to assure perfect assure roundness after stud installation while also getting the correct surface finish.
