- 800 HP, 427 ci, Naturally-Aspirated, Hydraulic-Roller, LS Engine
Description:
"The simplest solution is usually the best one" is not a new idea, but it is a good one. If you can get the power you want out of your engine naturally aspirated, that's probably the way to go. The OEs need superchargers to get into the 700 hp territory. We don't. This pump gas LS engine puts out 800 hp all on its own.
This build features a Dart LS Next SHP iron block with a 4.125 inch bore. The rotating assembly uses a Callies Compstar center counter-weighted crank with a 4.000" stroke to yield a 427 cubic inch displacement (see video at end of ad). The rotating assembly is completed with Callies Compstar Extreme rods and Diamond Race Series pistons. The valve train runs off a COMP hydraulic roller cam and a set of their BSR shaft rockers. Heads on this piece are complements of All Pro with our 5-axis CNC porting and Newen CNC finishing. The engine in the video is topped off with a FAST LSXR intake manifold, but plenty of other choices are available such as the FAST LSXHR in this ad's photo set.
Options
The BRE custom serpentine comes with a 225 amp alternator to keep power flowing to your accessories. The power steering pump can be configured for Hydratech boost if you'll be using one. By the way, Hydratechs work great! The alternator can be further upgraded to 300 amps on both this BRE or other available CVF serpentine systems.
Holley engine management systems are the most widely used in the market today for LS swaps. You can order an optional Holley Terminator X or the X-Max version which doubles as the trans controller. Either version works great with Holley Digital Dashes and greatly simplify instrumentation. FuelTech systems are a great upgrade including features such as being waterproof, having an intergrated display & ECU, a more robust wiring harness and more.
This powerplant can be dropped into about anything. Its standard configuration is with a GM oil pan appropriate for an LS-equipped vehicle. The standard oil pan can be replaced with an optional Moroso or Holley retrofit oil pan. A Dailey dry sump system is an avaialble upgrade for serious competitors. We will be happy to walk you through the options to get the one best for you. This is a custom engine that we will gladly tailor to exactly what you want. Need a transmission too? Happy to hook you up with one paired exactly to your engine. Ditto for your fuel system.
